Sean had cared for many children in his life, as Heart Butler.

There was always a diaper somewhere that needed changing, and mother that really needed to be seeing to her duties in the Castle. He didn’t mind helping it - it was part of this life, after all, and he loved each mother and tiny baby dearly.

He had, in his life, patched up scraped knees, listened to broken hearts, and patiently waited through rage storms. He was here for them all, in all the big and little ways he could be.

Despite that, having his arms full of previously happy, wee little Hadyn was... not something he’d expected. The boy had been pleased. He’d... thought the boy had been pleased? He hadn’t meant to cause this, it was only a cup of hot chocolate.

“There there,” he said gently, more audible for the rumble it caused in his chest than anything else. Sean was here. Hopefully not hugging the boy for too long, but here none the less. Snot and tears could be cleaned out of his jacket, thankfully. And the boy was better for having released them.
